In light of the ecumenical movement supporting a new feast celebrating God the Creator, The Hymn Society's 2025 song search invited new texts & songs focusing on this theme. I chose to set my new text to the familiar tune, Wayfaring Stranger.
My prayer is that Creating Word offers an expression of praise and gratitude to God for the great gift of creation, space for lament and repentance for the harm done to creation, and a prayer for God to restore all things to wholeness and health.

"The Consultation on Common Texts has officially added the “Feast of Creation in Christ” to the Revised Common Lectionary used by many Protestant churches. The step, formalized in April 2026, was made in coordination with the ecumenical committee facilitating the feast process in recent years." This step promotes an ecumenical Season of Creation with celebrations scheduled to begin on September 6, 2026 (first Sunday of September). Woo-hoo!!
